Band Bio
Nels started his career as a children's
artist in 1982 after the birth of his second daughter. Using his
background in various performing arts disciplines, he wrote songs for
his family and performed them at local pre-schools where parents and
children alike were impressed with his performing style. His
popularity continued to grow as he performed in school auditoriums
concert halls and outdoor festivals.
Nels' first children's recording,
Live Sandwiches, was released in 1988.
It was well received and prompted his second release in 1990,
Live Chickens. In 1993,
Friendship Train was released and proved to be
his most accomplished achievement. It spurred an enthusiasm
among his fans that led to yet another recording the following year.
This fourth production in 1994, a special seasonal production called
Time for Christmas, was designed with a unique
story-line format that turned out to be a great success.
Nels has been in the touring scene since 19991 and
now is booked throughout the United States, with this focus on the
West Coast where he lives with his family.
